A New Kaleidoscope

A quiet in the middle of your storm
A comfortable drone
Drowning out the noise
You can pluck out a note
In the drowsy melody
Curl up and sleep
Leave the fight for another day

Maybe this is the storm’s purpose
To rip apart and rearrange your life
While you lie down and take it all in
Safe in its center
Yes, the safest place in stormy weather is the center of the storm
Anywhere else you’ll be ripped apart along with your life
Rearranged in ways that you will never find your way back to yourself
Can never decipher when you are in the puzzle

A quiet in the middle of your storm
Is where you got to be
To wake up and understand what it all means
Pick up the pieces of your life
Create a new kaleidoscope

You find that the quiet of the storm stays with you
In creating your new kaleidoscope, touched by silence, silence is truth,
You have smoothened the knots that slowed you down
You have created new patterns with your tears and their sparkle shows you the way to the beginning of your new journey

We receive with grace
The lessons our storms bring
